Chilliwack Fire Hall and Fraser Valley Regional District Offices

The 50,000 sf four storey Fraser Valley Regional District Offices / Fire Hall in Chilliwack is a design build project which combines the FVRD Head Offices and a five-bay city fire hall. The basic design concept has been to design a building that houses both the city of Chilliwack Fire Department headquarters and the Fraser Valley Regional District Head Offices in a single structure allowing for an economical and logical sharing of common functions. Within the single building concept, the projects' design parameters are to allow each user group to have their own identity while coexisting in the same building. Constructed from high quality materials serve to reduce maintenance, and enhance longevity. The building materials chosen for the exterior are, brick, pre-finished metal cladding, class, and concrete and along with the selection of long wearing interior finishes will provide the district and the fire department with a building that will be low maintenance for many years. The result provides the district with a flexible and functional signature building which will serve the local community well.
