Fort Langley Fire Hall

This fire hall is a unique blending of old and new by incorporating the architectural aspects of the historical Hudson’s Bay Fort and reinterpreting the architectural vocabulary of the early Canadian settlements. The massing of the building involves a cluster of smaller elements, divided by function, which breaks down the architectural massing in relation to its residential neighbourhood. Colourful siding, board formed concrete and a heavy timber post / beam entrance canopy link the historical references to the contemporary architectural solution provided.
