Heritage Valley Fire Hall
JDa and Architecture | Tkalcic Bengert were commissioned to design the Heritage Valley Fire Station in Edmonton’s growing southwest district. This project incorporates community access as a majority of the site is open to the public by way of sidewalks constructed along both street sides of the project and through the forecourt that connects with the pedestrian greenway north of the site. This area combines public seating and open green space, adding to the pedestrian scale of the area and to the interest of the whole street.
Featuring brick and wood cladding, the Heritage Valley Fire Station was designed to protect against extreme conditions in the winter while providing significant shaded space in Edmonton’s hot summer.
