Colocation

A solution to densification and housing availability in urban areas

Johnston Davidson Architecture strongly advocates the benefits of colocation. One of our first such projects, the $4.9M Sechelt Justice Services Building, completed in 2003, brought together a courthouse and a local police station, combining two services that work closely together and improving convenience for staff who access both facilities. JDa also designed Chilliwack Fire Hall no. 1, which is colocated with a 911 call centre and municipal offices. We are currently in the final stages of our largest colocation project to date — Vancouver Fire Hall no. 5 and YWCA-managed housing.
